Thanks, but I wouldn't wish that head unit on my worst enemy!

I ended up ordering this Sony single DIN unit.

I ultimately decided that I didn't want to cough up close to $600 to put an AX4000 into a 16-year-old truck.

Any words of wisdom regarding installation?

I've never done a head unit before.

I did find this video on YouTube. Is it really this easy?

    Thanks.

Hell if I recall the brand but I have a single in mine, bottom half is the radio. Above is a slot to leave my phone, CDs, etc

Thanks I looked I to it more and saw a couple there. I guess I’m torn between having a double since it looks a little more updated and a single for some savings. Not a pressing matter as there are more important things I need to be working on and my JBL pill speaker works for my audio right now. Something I’ll keep an eye out for good deals on. Thank you.

IMO, it depends what you want from the radio. If you don't need the backup or navigation, single is the least expensive way and will serve your needs. That's the direction I have gone, never owned a vehicle with those (though my wife has the big double DIN and backup cam).

I went back and forth on it, and ended up ordering a BOSS double din touchscreen unit that turned out to be complete garbage as far as sound quality. It cost $150 which was about as much as I was willing to spend, but having the touchscreen and CarPlay wasn’t worth the sacrifice in sound quality. Ended up returning it and getting a single din Alpine unit for roughly the same price and the difference is night and day better!
