285s with a 15-17" wheel is probably what most people will say.
More sidewall will help with off roading.
Less sidewall ( low profile tires) will help with street performance.

    My two cents.

So i do not have Long travel. I have mid travel, so i may wrong on some of the following.
I mean 285s as the tire size. Which is a 33" diameter tire. Some will go with a 35" tire with LT. You should familiarize yourself with metric tire sizes as well. This will help.

As far as scraping on turns, On my mid travel with 33" i was rubbing the frame, inside of the fender well and the bottom of the washer fluid bottle. Long travel may not rub the tire on the frame, I don't have LT to know for sure. I replaced the stock fenders and bedside with 4" bulge and i don't rub on the fenders anymore. Someone with LT may come along and drop some wisdom.

TC site recommends a 33" tire.

I just put their kit on my truck with 16" stock wheels (stars = 4.5" bs) with 285 Generals (33's) and I had to run my wheel spacers (1.5") in order for the rim to clear the gusseted spindle, and the tire sidewall is still relatively close to it.

I'll prob end up picking up some new rims with 3-3.5" backspacing and ditch the wheel spacers. I havent had a chance to get a shakedown in the truck to find out if it rubs anywhere else yet.
