I've had my Martin rack for a year and a half. It has been maintenance free and still looks great. I also have the Martin cap rack. And it too is holding up and still looks new. 022926D1-3901-47A7-AD60-00E3F36ACFCF.jpg

No need to say which rack this is...

    Well, OK...

But I bought it early on in 2017, and there are many choices out there now that copied the original Prinsu design. Personally, many are probably just as good and even more convenient to add on different mounting options, some more expensive than others. But if you are good at tinkering and modifying off the shelf hardware to customize it, a Prinsu is a great foundation to start from. Its light, but strong as all heck. We sleep three in that RTT with no issues with that rack, and I drive 75-80mph with it up there sometimes in a 40+ mph headwind, so thats a category 3 hurricane force wind up there with no issues.

I run a Sherpa Equipment Company rack. In my opinion they have the best looking rack combined with the strongest mounting style.

I run a Front Runner Slimline II and love it, I personally prefered it over all of the prinsu copycats flooding the market these days.

Per the company, the fairing was designed to allow air to flow beneath and over the roof rack, resulting in minimal wind noise and mpg loss.

Anybody got a sunroof with the Martin or Prinsu? Is it still usable with the rack on?

Have one from Martin OR and absolutely love it. Quick note for anyone with a 2020+ the shark fin moved from other 3rd gens and originally I had clearance issues with the last bar. Another great reason to go with Martin OR; a couple quick emails and he had new rails shipped real quick and easy. Cannot say enough good things about his customer service. If you do order from Martin, just recommend clarifying the year of your truck before shipping.

I'll throw in a vote for the Front Runner slimline II. I have been really pleased with my full length rack setup.

Slimline II Rules. I went for both cab and shell racks. It is so versatile and burly, but also sleek. And wind noise with the additional front fairing is pretty much zero.

After watching an install video of the UpTop, I'm going to have to consider it if I need a rack.

Though I can't really speak on the MPG difference (since I installed mine and also re-installed by RTT, rotopax and other stuff at the same time) I did notice that the rack is a lot different from the original version. I installed my UpTop Bravo last week and I remember seeing photos of the gen 1 rack crossbars being super close to the roof (like 1-2mm) and the fairing being pretty tall. Their "new" version seems to be re-designed with drag / mpg loss in mind. Obviously no matter what option you choose, you're going to decrease MPG slightly.

On mine, I noticed that they raised the crossbars higher above the roof, they have the gap between the fairing and roof to help eliminate the drag and they made the front fairing slimmer. If you watch some of their videos on youtube, they discuss why the design looks the way it does and the benefits.

I'm glad I went with UpTop rather than Prinsu. Their materials are really solid and they have great customer service. Also, I'm not a fan of CBI's recent marketing stunt to try to drive business. Pretty scummy IMO.

They claimed they would match or beat any "comparable" racks on the market but denied literally everyone's claims because nothing was comparable lol. Though a lot of people were trying to compare some cheeeaaaap racks on Amazon / ebay, they also weren't matching UpTop or any of the others. I am a member on a few Facebook groups and I didn't see a single person post up about them matching another brand. Then I believe they turned around and offered a small discount and auto-enrolled everyone into an email blast campaign.

From the outside, it looked to be just a way to get people talking and collect people's info. That's sort of what drove me to buying UpTop other than the pricing being lower and shipping was free (Prinsu wanted another $100+ for shipping). I have the uptop Truss bedrack as well and the quality is great.
