when driving normally/casually trying not to step on it, I usually shift around 2500-3000 RPM I was just wondering what others shift at cause I seem to have a zinging metal rattle noise when I take off. So today when i was trying to show the mechanic and he was driving I couldnt hear it at all and I noticed that he rode the clutch a little more and reved it higher, I too use the clutch quite a bit but not as much as him.

I usually shift my 2.7 at about 3000 rpm. Sometimes more if I'm in a hurry.:D Sometimes less if I'm saving fuel.

i shift at set mph vs rev.
i drive a 4.0L 6-spd, and if you look in the manual it says for best gas mileage shift at 10mph, 25 mph, 40mph, 50mph then 6th gear whenever you want.
if you watch the rev. when shifting at those speeds its right about 2500rpm.
thats what i do when i dont feel the need to get up and go

Go back and re-read your post. You left the "F" out of shift. I'm giving you a hard time.
