What shocks are compatable

I have an 06 trd prerunner dbl cab lb. the struts up front are leaking and I would like to replace all 4 corners of the suspension. This truck is my sons who is 16, and I dont want to do anything aftermarket. Just want to switch out to fresh hardware. I looked around locally on craigslist and came across a posting for all 4 pieces off a new 2015 trd 4x4 for only $100. Sounds like a great deal, but when I called the parts dept at the dealer, they say the part numbers dont match. Is this really that big of a deal? Wouldnt they fit anyway since its the same body style, etc? The only real difference is 4x4 vs prerunner. Can anyone help with some advice on what WILL fit if these wont?

 

Should fit. Only reason the part numbers don't match is because you have a prerunner and the part is for a 4x4. Different valving but should still bolt right up.

 

If there both TRD then it will fit. If your Sons isn't TRD then it has a different shock, but it will still fit.
