I'll be buying a new truck in January/February of next year. I was originally going to be buying something used November/December of this year but due to the insane prices for used right now it just makes more sense to me to wait a couple more months and get everything I want in a truck.

I am, even 4+ months out, extremely excited and want to spend this time planning out what I want. Here's what I have so far, please feel free to critique anything you see or add on some ideas of your own.

Color: Army Green - this is hard locked in.
Trim: I will see if I can't find any 2020 Pros, if not I'll be building a Sport
Packages: I want leather interior and a sun roof so I need to get a premium package. I will get the LED headlights and fog lights and need to do more research into the Advanced Technology Package (it's $650 more for this). I'll get an aftermarket Tonneau cover.
Accessories: From my reading on these forums I'll be getting the bed step and bed mat. I'll also be adding on the black emblem overlays, TRD Performance Exhaust in Black (I read several threads here, some videos, this is a total want for me), bed lighting kit, door sill protectors, remote tailgate lock and predator tube steps. Is there anything else I should be getting?
Lift: I would prefer not to get one if I don't have to. I will say that I prefer the look of a leveled truck though.
Wheels: Fuel Beast - this is a hard lock in. I need to do more searching on the sizing and offset. I've read posts where people with the same wheel specs rub and others where they don't at stock.
Tires: I'm 80% sure I'll do a skinny tire after reading the thread about them in the Wheels/Tires section. I do no off-roading and I want something that is good in the snow/slush. This seems the way to go. As for the specific tire it will probably be Duratecs, although I will look at the pricing for the KO2s, Wildpeak AT3Ws (I have these on my Jeep right now, awesome tires), Coopers and Toyos.
Dash Cam: I'm pretty set on the Garmin Mini with the USB Adapter. Tucks away nicely and the video quality looks good from what I've seen on youtube.
Floor Mats: Thanks to this forum I'll be getting Husky Liners, hard set on this one.
Grill: Yeah I'll be getting the Pro grill with the lights...it looks good, what can I say

I believe that's all I have so far.

Um.....if ur locked in army green as your color you are going to have to get a trd pro. Sport or Off road isn’t an option.

Sounds like you know what you want. Id start with that list. You'll know if you need more if and when it arises.

Oh I thought you were going specifically for a 2020. You didn’t mention 2021. I see.

Anyhow your build looks pretty good it actually sounds pretty similar to mine in fact. Lot of the same wants.

I only ask why you want to build a sport and not an OR? If it’s simply the scoop and you don’t need the crawl or locking diff, then seems a fine choice

That's pretty much it. The most OR'ing I've done in the last decade has been a dirt road.

Makes sense. Sounds like you have got a good plan. Even if you don’t want a lift, some really don’t like the sport suspension, some don’t have any issue with it. Definitely something you can feel out after you get done miles on your truck.

Looks like a pretty solid plan and sounds like you have a good idea of what you want. Once you have the truck, you'll find other little things to do to it and the more you're on TW, the more you'll find. lol The only thing I could recommend would be the center console organizer and tray. It's a small thing, but nice to have to help keep the center console organized.

Since your getting the black emblem overlays, I'm assuming you're not a huge fan of chrome. The MESO turn signals eliminate some of that, but you have to really watch his website to grab those when they're available. I never liked the stock shift knob, so I got the TRD Pro shift knob. One of the best things about the Tacoma is the crazy amount of aftermarket support. You have all sorts of options to customize the truck and make it your own.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of chrome so I want to black it all out. I was looking at blacked out LED headlights but there were some crazy high prices so just going to upgrade through Toyota. Thanks for the tip on the center console organizer/tray and the shift knob. Stuff like that is really great info as I don't think I've come across threads for shift knobs...yet.

At almost 100 bucks its damn expensive for what it is. But also I like it so much better than the non-pro knob. :anonymous::anonymous:

I did a build on a 2020 TRD Sport VooDoo Blue, pretty much what u want, I Started my search, this time last year, and took delivery December 17, 2019. I learned A LOT about Toyota, and how the Allocation system works!!, Make sure you work with a dealer that will work FOR YOU!!, The allocation come out every 2 weeks or so, Make sure they check what other dealers have in their allocations, mine came from CA, and I am in PA, CA needed a Camry to close deal, so Camry went to CA, and the TACO came to PA!! All the dealers did was just switched units in Computer. You have to be a pain, but it is your money!! If you have any questions let me know.

regardless what you buy, you NEED to get the ultimate LED map lights by MESO, the dome ones have been out of stock for a long time, you don't want to have the stock map lights/dome lights for sure

The dealer is going to charge you an arm and a leg for things like bed mat, emblem overlay, etc. There are a lot of places like Camelback Toyota Parts, Olathe Toyota Parts, and BAM Wholesale where you can find the OEM stuff much cheaper than your local dealer even with the shipping charges. You might even be able to leverage your local dealer into price matching. I ordered my emblem overlays from Amazon for $35 and they are indistinguishable from the ones that the dealer sells for $150.

Any updates on how things are going? What wheels did you end up with? You had a nice list going.
