I just turned 16 last week and got my first truck, a 2003 Toyota Tacoma limited 4x4 and need to do something about the plain color matched fender flares (the truck is silver) because they're already scratched from driving in the woods. I've narrowed my options down to $175 to linex them or however much it costs for a can or two rustoleum truck bed liner. Aside from price how well does each hold up against the elements and which would be better for me since I'm a soon to be broke teenager?

I'd get the linex, I've heard the rustoleum tends to peal off if you get gas on it so more than likely your rear driver side flare will not last long. It's better to do it right the first time around

Great advice. Take it from somebody who has derped theirs a total of 2 times and finally rustoleum them. Should have linex mine the first time will save you alot of time headache and frustration. DO IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME!!!

I've had mine bedlined with Rustoleum sine June and it has held up very well. But if you can afford it, I would get them Line-x'd.

    Bumpers, skids, OME suspension,
Professional spray on liner is the right way to go. I've done the rattle can method on flares only to have to re-do every so often.

Go with Rustoleum. Mine's held up for almost a year. Linex is good for truck beds but $175 is WAY too expensive for flares. You can get 1 can of bedliner for $8 and still have some left over after you've done all the flares
