From what I have been told, yes. But I could have been told wrong, it wouldn't be the first time.

They won't rush you at all! They'll show you the shiny new truck, then sit you down probably in eye shot and start to sell you a bunch of mostly useless stuff, knowing you want to get out of there and show it off. Have fun resisting:evil:

Good call buddy. I was shocked when i read people weren't doing this.

If you dont... when the truck arrives, the dealership would quite possibly perfer to sell to someone else for more. Dealers are having as much trouble getting certain trims as buyers.

Great deal btw i was trying to decide between and sr and an sr5 and i think the sr5 is calling me because of long bed

    Edit: congrats btw!!

All A/C have the same bed. We had a fairly entertaining thread about it, last night I believe.

Nothing to void the warranty for a little while. Definitely gonna get the windows tinted and get a black, low profile toolbox immediately after purchase.

Might look into removing the charcoal filter, possibly new headers after I feel comfortably voiding the warranty. Just gonna do a lot of PM at first

Make them pull the lower control arm cam bolts and antisieze the the things.

Every Toyota truck ive owned for the last 20 years has had frozen cam bolts. You can't get a good alignment with those bolts froze up. Cutting off control arms is getting old.

Highly doubt they'll go for that, but thanks for the warning. I'll definitely be looking out for it.

This is the Pre-Delivery Service checklist that all Toyota dealers should (do ?) perform as a minimum on a new Tacoma. Anything else is gravy.

If you know you don't want the extended warranty etc tell your salesman ahead of time. That's what I did with my last truck. I told him when I come to pick it up don't try to sell me all that crap.

Do you need to know, or care?
First new purchase is exciting. Enjoy the experience, and the "new smell".

There is nothing to ask them to check pre-delivery, because thy won't do anything outside of the dealer prep sheet without a duplicated problem. Just grab it and go! Of course after all the other stuff to go through first with the dealership.

Regardless of what the dealership does *you* should go over everything with a fine toothed comb. Make sure everything on the sticker and/or purchase agreement is installed and in place. Check the finish, especially on the hood and other front-facing panels for any scratches, dings or chips. Once it leaves the dealer's lot anything you find later is "not their problem".

Specifically tell them that you want the Automatic transmission fluid checked. There have been alot of reports that some Trucks have been delivered with a Quart low from the factory.

Regardless, still good advice for others buying a new automatic truck.
