What side of this construction sign should you be driving on?

Having worked for a city water distribution department in the past, I can attest there is no idiot proof method of traffic control. Some folks just should not be behind the wheel.

Had one guy sue the city after we found a broken manhole cover on a residential road. We surrounded the open hole with tall candlesticks wrapped in caution tape along with a yield sign.

In the few minutes it took to drive to the shop to get a new cover, he plowed through all this and broke a front rim on his dodge pickup when he fell in the hole.
