Does the bolt next to it fit?
If so, take that bolt and run down to the local parts store.
Most all of them have a bolt gauge.

Or take the bolt, and drop in a metric socket.
For instance, if it won’t fall into a M7 socket, but will an M8. It’s an M8 bolt

Assuming it's the same size as the bolt next to it, try sockets on the head. Typically for Toyotas, 14mm head = M10. 12mm head = M8. 10mm head = M6.

Thank you! My question was similar and your answer to the OP answered mine as well! I discovered a missing bolt and nut from the bracket where my catalytic converter is. It looks like some would-be thief aborted his plans before he could swipe it.

Anyway, I did as you said and tried my sockets on the remaining nut and discovered the 14mm socket is the one that fits. Now I'm off to the store!
