Proper gearing choice is going depend on auto or manual and the cost is dependent on if you are going to pay some one or do the work yourself.

If you think you might ever get lockers, get them now!

You can get away with 4.56 on 35's with the v6. I would personally go 4.88 to let the diffs work harder than the transmission. The tradeoff in trans durability being less fuel efficiency.

For cost, I was at $2916 total in parts and labor for ARB's front/rear, R&P, and install. So figure under $1500 per axle.

4.88 Nitro gears and $1100 was the labor cost for both front and rear. It took a day and a half but it was done right.

Nitro Gears Master Install kit - $1325
ARB Front Air Locker - $920
Labor cost for both front and rear axles - $1100

If you plan on towing or carrying adding additional weight in the future like armor, winch, roof rack, sliders. Then I would recommend 4.88 gears for Auto. If not then I would go 4.56 and 4.30 would put you closer to stock.

I'm on 4.56 on 33s. V6 Auto. Did lockers front and back too. Think I was $5-6k all done.

Really want 35s though when I can afford it.

    Similar here...

OP - usual guide for 35’s is 4.88 for auto trans & 4.56 for manual. That being said 4.30 is available now & knowing what I know now I’d have gone with that if I could have. (Manual trans here)

    Just my $.02 ;)

Who is providing 4:30s? I remember reading on here that they are extremely expensive in comparison to the more common sizes.

    I'm juggling 4:10s and 4:30s. 06 6spd mk3 stage 1 s/c, 34s. Looks like ecgs has 430s. Yukon not nitro. Nice option!
