What size in/out?

I think I've decided I want to replace my Tacoma's stock muffler with a Flowmaster Super 44. If have just the muffler replaced and use the stock pipes, what size and orientation should the in/out be on the muffler? I've seen 2.25, 2.5 and 3.0 listed as fitting a 2010 V6 Tacoma. Also, does the size and orientation of the in/out affect the sound of the muffler?

Thats what my Super 44's is

offset in/center out....2.5 inches

 

Stock piping is 2.25", but an exhaust shop can fit anything on there.

 

Changed my mind. I ordered a Dynomax Ultra Flow. Decided the Super 44 might be a little too loud. I read that the Ultra Flow is loud under hard acceleration but not bad otherwise. Plus, with the rebate the Dynomax costs less than $40! Score!

 

I don't know about you, but I still love coming home to new toys

 

Which model # did you end up getting? Where did you find it for $40 after rebate!? Have you installed it yet, and if so how do you like it?
