I plan on lifting my 2004 Toyota Tacoma pre runner 2WD. I was thinking on getting a 6 inch lift. What lift kit should I get? What size tires and rims? It’s going be a daily driven truck

A question to your question. How much money do you want to spend?

Pro comp for the 6in lift, and I'd go 22s on the rims with a 35" low profile mud tire, maybe a 315/60/22

    Shit'll look boss

Some questions to consider before spending your hard earned money:

How much do you want to spend?
What are you intending to do with your truck?
Is it going to see any off-road?
Why do you want a 6" lift for your 2wd truck?

It's 2wd, so it's not like you're going rock crawling with the thing. So I'm guessing you're looking for a6" more for looks than performance.

Even still, I would say you will be better served sticking to a 3" lift (or less) and some 33's. Your money will go MUCH farther sticking with a set of lift coilovers and a new set of leafs in the back, or even just an add-a-leaf. You can get entirely new suspension (springs/shocks/brake line extension etc...) for like $1200 with an OME 2.5" lift kit. If money is tight, get a set of the height adjustable Bistein 5100s and an add-a-leaf. 4 5100s is under $400. All in on a well performing 2.5" lift is like $500.

You could spend $3k on a fabtech 6" lift (considered by most to easily be the only high end choise for a 6" lift or 1st gens) that still uses lift blocks, an add-a-leaf and non-adjustable mid grade (at best) quality shocks, or

you could spend $3k on adjustable King coilovers, upper control arms, and Deaver leaf springs.

If you're eyeing the rough country lift for $800, seriously, just stop and think about why it's pretty much the cheapest on the market.

I wanted a 6” too back when I was in the market for a lift earlier this year. I wasn’t very knowledgeable on lifts and many members here provided a lot of insight and explained why the 6”+ bracket lifts are frowned upon. I was eventually convinced to go with OMEs (old man emu) complete suspension kit. Haven’t looked back since.
