Hey yall I got an 08 tacoma and I was wondering what lift you guys would recommend getting to fit these 265/75r16 tires I got. The offset on the rims is -25mm and I got to run 1.5 inch spacers bc they hit my brake caliper otherwise.

No mods required with factory wheels. I'd go back to stock wheels and drive it.

If you're going for looks 2.5 if you are going for purely fitment then absolutely no lift is required if you are 6 lug. If you are 5 then that's a different story that I have no answer for.

I own a first generation Tacoma. More precisely, a 1997 Tacoma standard cab 4x4 with 2.7L and W59.

    I ride 265/75R/16.

I lifted my truck about three inches with Bilstein's, Old Man EMU shocks, extended shackles, and rear blocks.

There is a slight amount of rubbing on the front mud flaps; however, that only happens when my turning radius nears its limit.

I hope these anecdotes help insofar as first gen experiences relative to second gen experiences are valuable.

    Good luck.

P.S. Your gearing will not be radically thrown-off by this conversion, assuming your experience is anything like mine. There is no doubt a noticeable decrease in acceleration, which harms hill starts in particular. The most noticeable degradation in performance for me was maintaining speed on hills at highway speeds. However, if you are thoughtful about shifting, etc. then you will do OK.

I think there is a first GEN Tacoma group that you can search for that may give you more answers

Are you saying you’re running a -25 offset with a 1.5 inch spacer?

Already tried running without a lift, and when I turned the wheel it almost took my fender off

I hope that's +25 mm offset with 1.5" spacer. Otherwise you'll likely need a cab mount chop, even with 265s.

I could prolly go with a thinner spacer but I just tried them on with a 1.5 inch spacer just to be safe

So you’re talking approx -60 offset .You’re gonna rub even with 3” lift. That offset is an issue.

    Nope. He’s running -60 +/- offset with a 10” wheel.
