    Hey guys,

I tried searching a bit but it is kind of urgent after an accident that I grab some new wheels and tires. I am looking to get the Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs on 7089's, just wondering what size rim to get (bolt pattern is confusing?).

I am either gettin 265/70R/17 or 285/70R/17 for tires. will there be any rubbing on either setup WITHOUT a lift? I am putting in a toytec lift as well, but wondering if I can get away with the setup for a week without a lift. Rubbing issues?

Thanks in advance....I know it is a rushed question, but I cant drive my Tacoma until I get this squared away..

with no lift you will rub the 285.

for a bolt pattern our trucks use a 6x5.5 so 6 lugs on a 5.5" diameter circle

What he said, also make sure on the wheels that you order the non-hub centric ,the hub centric are not correct. If you are getting a 3 in lift I would recommend waiting and getting the 285/70/17's . Good luck:D

before I continue, can I go on record that this is why I love this place. I am sure this is stuff that could be searched for and dug through. I have had a rough couple of days....ended up getting extremely cut-off on the highway in new england's first snowstorm, spun around twice and smacked the front right against a guardrail, bounced hit the back end of the truck and bounced back into traffic. By some MIRACLE i have not a scratch, there is not a scratch on the body of the truck, but the wheels and tires got f'ed up. Blessing in disguise, it moved forward the wheels/tires/lift i was planning.

Anywhere else I would get flamed and called a noob or a wook or a jong and told search function for an answer. Mreimann and Goride , i appreciate just the honest answer without flaming.

I think I am going to go with the 285/70/17's - what size rim do I need, the 17X8??

Thats what size I went , i believe they are 17 x 8 with 4.5 back space, remember order the non-hub centric. Like was said thou you will rub w/o lift and maybe on the plastic in the fender which can be trimmed.

If your getting the lift than the 285's will be good. I'm not sure how much rub you will get when its stock but it will prob rub on the cab mounts and possibly on the upper control arms too. Get your lift quick if you go with the 285's. If you get 265's and the lift you will regret it , and want the bigger tires. Just my 2 cents:rolleyes: Nice choice on the wheels:thumbsup:

you don't have to go w/ 285's. more than likely they will still rub even with a lift. if you don't care about trimming then the 285's will do great, but if you don't wanna trim then 265's are the lazy way out.

but they might look a little small on a lifted truck

Thanks bro.......I like your long bed, maybe if you painted it MGM and, uh....never mind that won't work:p

This is true..... the 285's will still rub with 3 inches of lift. But all you have to do is trim the plastic in the fwd wheel wells. It's easy and you can't tell unless you stick your head in there:D

why does jcwhitney website says the procomp 7089 are not compatible with our trucks? is it because they're refering to hub centric? anyone know where i can get a brand set in 17" for a good deal?

NC is having a Tax-free weekend the last weekend in August, and I'm pretty sure the rest of the stores in the company are too
