According to Toyota, my DCSB 4x4 TRD OR BAJA truck weighs in at 4220 wet, basic common knowledge for snatch straps or ropes would mean that I would go for a 13k-16k strap/rope - that just seems a bit soft to me, anyone busted a rope when buying them "appropriately" sized? I was thinking 17,500 ARB snatch (or maybe a bubba rope) plus carrying a 30k lb tow strap as a backup.

It should be pointed out that I generall wheel with a dude driving an H1, and he carries like 45k lb stuff (his truck is almost 10k lbs) so I have had to yank him out a few times (wish I had video - but i've recovered him from the mud a few times) - we always use his straps to get him though, and they are really far far too big to stretch if we're pulling me out.

This website has great products for recovery and let me tell you the strap I got 3"x20' 2-ply with breaking strength of 60k for only $78 is amazing. 2-ply recovery straps are the way to go. They have tons of options and I have been using them ever since I found one had tons of obvious uses and abandoned on a trail. Still have it in one piece and usable. For the price of today's straps because of the name that is on it, its crazy. A local shop wanted to charge me $80 for a strap with a breaking strength of only 30k because it was a name brand.
