What Size Rims for Better MPG?

My '13 Off Road will be needing new tires. I'd like to go larger than stock (I have a lift). I can buy 4 2015 17" rims for $160 thru the local classifieds to replace my 16" rims.

Since the total weight of a wheel affects mpg, would a 17" Toyota rim deliver better mileage than a 16" Toyota rim, if the tire diameter is the same (32 1/2" - 33")?

Another way of asking the question is does a larger rim ends up being lighter than the rubber in the tire for similar sized wheels?

Any other benefits of a larger rim?

    Thanks everyone!

There is a negligible difference between the 16" Off Road wheel and the 17" Sport wheel in terms of weight. Your best bet when buying new tires in relation to fuel economy is to purchase 'P' load passenger highway tires. After that, its all downhill from there concerning mpg's when you start buying all-terrains and mud terrains, especially if they are larger than stock due to the added rubber and reinforcement (aka weight).

In terms of weight my sport is Bone stock including rims and tires and I get the window sticker 17 at best for combined driving like city and highway.
