For those of you running 18" wheels what width and backspacing are you using?

17" pretty good option. depends on the rim and style you're after. I wanted a black wheel with a negative offset that was different than what most were running.
The wheel I found was in 17" I ruled out anything bigger than eighteen.

It seems that tires are more expensive for the 17" wheels! I'm currently in a dilima deciding whether to drop down to 16" from the 17" just so the tires will be less expensive when I change to the 285's!

Is it even possible to drop down to the 16" wheel if you have an 07' 4x4 trd sport and you want to upgrade to larger tires...after lifting that is?

Thanks for the input RelentlessTaco! I wonder why a wheel distributor told me differently! I guess I should start another thread to confirm the appropriate wheel size to include 16" or 17" and spacing etc. It seems that most prefer the 16" which is fine by me...haha I think!

as for 16's, look for either a 16x8 with 4-4.5" BS or a 16x9 with 4.5-5" BS. That translates to between -12mm and 0mm offsets. Those are the specs you want, though some 16's may still have a slight clearance issue with the brake caliper. Some people will grind it a tad if that occurs, but I'd recommend looking for a 16 that someone else already has on a 2nd gen and can verify they clear the calipers

i personally like the look of the 20's stuffed with a 3" lift. still have my 16" set for winter and off-road though

Well I pulled the trigger and got a set of the mickey thompson classic locks in the 17" x9". also got a set of the n-fab style smittybuilt stainless steel nerf bars. I got them order from 4wheelparts, cost me a total w/ tax because we have a 4wheelparts in Indpls, Wheels /nerf bars + sales tax + free to my door shipping = $1258. Now I just have to decide on either the 3" or 6" lift and tires. I`m leaning towards the 6" lift. Wife now says I pick the size she doesn`t care. [IMG] [IMG]

I like my 20's but I think 18's are more suitable with 33 inch tire and a 3 inch lift, however if I had a 6 inch I would go 20's and 35's. 18's just have a perfect balance with our size trucks. Damn that was a lot of numbers!!

Wow. I remember when top of the line sports cars only had anything larger than 15s.
