What skid plates are a must for wheeling?

    2017 Tacoma OR 4x4 (formerly 2002 OR 4x4, 1995 4x4 4Runner, 1985 4x4 Toy PU) ... and RIP’s (rust in pieces) to a Bronco II 4x4 & S10 Blazer 4x4
    Your skid and transfer plates are more than adequate for most situations. I’d suggest perhaps sliders if you haven’t gotten some already. Just pick a good line, don’t gun it and you’ll be fine. If the only line available includes rocks higher than your existing armor and other low points of your truck then perhaps add more but it would only be necessary if you want to deal with very rocky terrain. Those types of trails are going to cause most people with little off-road experience, especially with their own vehicle, to pucker up and turn around- a thing even experienced and smart drivers do! Just remember that it’s always OK to turn around or back up to try a new route when in doubt.

    Main TRD skid plate and you'll be fine, depends on what you're doing
