My buddy got filler plates on his because of the fear one of his dogs might get their leg caught between the slider and the truck when they jump out. Don't know if its a legitimate worry, but he seemed to be worried about the possibility.

Get the NFAB ROCKRAILS.. they look similar to sliders (not real sliders) then you can separately purchase attachable steps to add on.. The one time you go off-roading you pull 4 bolts per side and remove the steps for more clearance.. Again they wont protect like an actual slider but they maybe more suitable for you being that you don't plan on lots of off-roading

Cost of slider is definitely more money than some cheap steps. But if you factor in the extra benefits of protection and also it acts as a step, the extra money seems like a no brainer. GET SLIDERS

The steps that I have seen with filler plates allow them to function as steps.
The C4 Sliders are the cleanest I have seen.

I actually messaged Mobtown on instagram last night, asking if you can still use a hilift jack if you have filler plates. They answered that you can use a hilift jack with their attachment on theirs, but they aren't sure about the others.

If money wasn't an issue, I would get the C4 with TRD Pro inserts right this second, but with shipping and the DOM upgrades, they are nearly 1100 bucks.
Hard to justify that vs some local Demello sliders.

Sorry not my truck but exact N-fab 3 inch steps I have. I'd take a pic of mine but it's pretty dark. Hope this helps. I had taken my mud flaps off due to slight rub from slightly larger tires and these actually have helped protect the side underbody from any small flinging debris. Also has protected me from a door ding I was observing while walking up to my truck from of a sedan. It was a very elderly lady who opened the door a little to fast and smacked the bottom portion of her door on the steps which stopped the door actually going into my door panel. Have had them from about 8 months now in pretty much every weather condition and they still look new. Would definitely recommend the powder coated version over the gloss black which is the other paint option they have.

Of course there are always rock sliders too, I don't off road much and when I do it's pretty light so I went with these steps.

See that’s my situation too. I don’t OffRoad much, but I do every so often. I like the way these look too.

again they are not real sliders. they bolt up the same way factory steps do. I have these on my truck without the optional steps. they tuck pretty tight to the body so unless your a child you wont fit a foot in-between to use them as steps. but a great option for those that don't offroad often or that wont be pushing the truck to the point were sliders become necessary
