I removed the bolt cover on my 2018 Tacoma Passenger grab handle thinking I could hide my radar detector wires down the pillar. Didn't need to do that, but now I cannot get the cover back on. It just will not snap in and hold. Anyone done this? Any suggestions?

Someone else had this issue once I remember. I believe there should be a plastic tab on the cover. Check to see if you may have bent it or accidentally broken it off.

There are tabs on the back side. Make sure they aren't bent or broken off. It should just pop back on.

And just a quick, friendly FYI for everyone. Today's vehicles are meant to "snap" together once at the factory. For everyone who likes to fuck with their panels, they may not ever go back "good-as-new", especially if a tab gets bent or broken.(which it probably will). At the very least, the tabs are now weaker than when they first went in.

sounds like a couple of dabs of clear silicone caulk on the broken tab areas and tape it in place for 24 hours.?

I removed that piece when I installed the Subaru tweeters. Both tabs on the cover were intact, nothing was bent or broken, but that piece would not stay in place at the upper tab when pressed back into place. I used a piece of Fun-Tak to hold it in place.

Same thing happened to me yesterday. I ordered a replacement from the dealer for $8 CDN which means it's probably like $5 USD.
The part you need is 74617-04070-B0 which is the grey version of the one I ordered.
