What the heck is a deckplate mod?

Please, inform me. I have no idea what this is and I can't find it in the mid thread and it's been mentioned like a bazillion times in a bunch of other threads so before curiosity kills the cat, could you please explain what it is and how it's "set up"

From what I understand, the mod is cutting a hole in your filter box to allow cooler or more air into your engine. I also believe that its not effective on 2nd Gen tacos, just 1st Gen.

Its cutting a hole in your airbox and being able to plug the hole. Pretty much it. Probably simpler to just take the top off your airbox.

 

pretty much what they said ^. but you can screw a cap back on so when you go through water it wont go into your engine. it also adds mpg on highway and it sounds badass when you step on it. def woth it.
