what the heck is this called? (air box/MAF gasket??)

    this gasket sits between my MAF sensor and my air box.
    it's starting to deteriorate so i'm trying to replace it but i cannot figure out what it's called!

    yeah pretty much an air box gasket or maf gasket ill look for it for you

    well. you won't. it's an insignificant gasket. here's the OE number i believe. 222750C010

    just buy some gasketing material and cut one out on your own. you have the original with a good form to it

    I wouldn't call any intake gasket downstream of the air filter 'insignificant'. You don't want grit and grime getting to the throttle body and piston rings.

    thing is, the MAF is supposed to be so well secured that nothing can get passed a crack except more air, and being before the MAF, its not an intake leak that needs to be worried about.

    If he doesnt want to cut out a paper tracing, he could put a bead of silicone on one of the surfaces, let it dry a bit, then tighten it down to make a perfect seal.

    Besides, i was calling the gasket itself insignificant, not the concept of having one between the filter and sensor :)

    actually the screw holes have these elevated spacers on them that are about the width of the original gasket, so i might not be able to tighten everything down over gasket maker. though, i didn't check yesterday to see if the spacers were actually attached to the air box or not, don't remember them rattling around. will check later today though
