I think its either that or the front left spring and shock assembly. I have a hard time believing it could be anything else.

I mean new west toyota always came through, but thats after a long battle with them.:)

What really helped me both times was, Cc'ing dealership's GM's email. Man things got solved quick after that. There was a time when Corporate told me to fuck off and dealer told me to fuck off, but everything was fixed as soon as i included his email.

I have read about that on here in the past. I got the impression that it was from wheeling hard. That would be really fucked up if i found out my sheet metal was cracked haha!

I do go offroad quite often in the summer but nothing too crazy, some medium trails to get to remote campsites.

A part from the one time I really bottomed out hard, I'd say I offroad to the same degree it sounds like you do, mostly wash board roads, and I've got the cracks pretty gnarly lol.

Hope you don't have it too! But there's instructions on how to "feel" for it with your hands without pulling the fender line if you wanna check. It's on one of those threads about it.

My truck does the exact same thing, happens on speed bumps or dips <15 MPH. I think its my swaybar smacking something, I can confirm this in a few weeks once I remove it.

It was not the sway bar. Bar is off and I’m still getting the clink.

Changing coils didn’t fix it for me either as I went to Fox 2.5s and new UCAs.

    Work in progress...
Get under the driver side and give the front drive shaft a wiggle. I have about the exact same noise and research says a little play is ok. Where the driver side front drive shaft connects to the differential.

Thanks for the update man! This is why i love this forum.

I still havent done anything about the noise. My plan is to bring my truck to the dealer before my 3 year warranty runs out and see what happens. I dont have high hopes though.

For some reason i think it will be the front left body mount. We shall see.

I would check the cam alignment bolts being loose, if they aren't torqued to 100 ft/pds they can move around during articulation and make noise similar to that

    Reporting back. I have success!

I installed the Energy front body mount replacements, but was still have noises. Turns out, my aftermarket mid skid was hitting the first crossmember that it shares with IFS skid. I added some nylon spacers and no more clunk! I hope this helps one of you.

Op is in salt state. I’m gonna go with LCA or sway links/bushings. I’m not a mechanic.

Actually im in lower mainland area. It snows maybe a month out of the year. I do go to mountains in winter to snowboard, but i rinse my undercariage every single time afterwards. Im pretty anal when it comes to that.

I have a feeling its my left front body mount for some reason.

Hopefully you’re able to find the source. Fellow boarder myself. You gotta love those under carriage sprayers though!

Body mounts will creek and sound like sheet metal popping from my experience. I stopped chasing my noise gremlin until I throw money at the suspension or it breaks first. :annoyed:
