Definitely frustrating but I’ve learned to live with it. It’s hard to give up on it but it’s not effecting anything other than my sanity. I’ve come to terms that it’s a truck and it’s gonna make noise.

Are you getting pops or clunks?

My ‘14 did something like this and seemed to be the shock and the upper mount orientation....I almost think it may have something to do with this noise but it is alittle different

Sometimes I can replicate under moderate braking with the wheel turned (get it to nosedive pretty good). As a matter of fact it usually happens with the wheel turned going forward or backward. Sometimes on speed bumps. I found it doesn’t happen as much in warmer months or after a good rain.

    edit: should have proof read

Dealer told me front shocks. "They always do that." and did not replace as the "new ones do it too." I replaced with Dobbinsons, no more noise.

Right on man! I went up yesterday and it was fantastic.

Funny you say that the body mounts will make that noise. My 07 ranger did that loud popping noise ever since i got it in about 2011 with like 45k miles. It also felt like it was coming from front left. I had thar bad boy for 7 years and never had any issues. I knew that little guy was built like a tank and i wasnt too worried. I had no skids on that truck.

Now, i paid quite a bit for my new taco and it would be nice if it didnt make that loud popping noise:) I could almost feel that pop with my left foot, might be in my head though.

Any ideas why the body mounts would do that?

That’s so awesome I’m a bit envious. It’s so peaceful on the trails. I’m planning a trip out west after the new year and hopefully they don’t have the resorts shut down from covid but I think most of them are open.

I understand the feeling. We pay good money for these trucks and chasing gremlins is discouraging and at times unnecessary.

From my research they use inferior rubber bushings for the cab mounts. The rubber wears quickly and with fluctuation in temperatures it’s just enough to cause movement in the socket which is the noise you may hear.

My drivers rear was terrible last year. I unscrewed it and sprayed fluid film in the cavity and put it back together and have had decent luck since. They will eventually be replaced with energy suspension poly bushings but I don’t feel like taking my seats and storage panels out again. :annoyed:
