I'm glad you started this thread, mine was ready to fall out so it saved me from having to ask "What the hell is this". It would have bugged the shit out of me not knowing where it came from.

Toyota actually has mad/evil engineers that design specific parts to fail or fall out(in this case) at specific mileages just to get people into there service centers and then they talk you into having a full XX,XXX mileage "tune up" done at there "federal maxim security death row prison rape rate, but they will fix/replace your broken 80¢ part for FREE!!!

I have a whole box of "those" parts in my garage!!!

Looks like a cock ring for an Iranian, but I can't be sure. If it's plastic, throw it away. If it's titanium, sell it. If it smells like shit, I guess I was right.

It's a a vibration dampener for the parking brake spring.

Ever release your parking brake and hear a slight ding-hummmmmm. That's what it is there for!

Either that or something for wires in the firewall.

I have spent a while on my back looking under the dash. I am wondering if it came from the back of the instrument cluster?

So someone asks a serious question and gets 9 BS answers to one good one?

So its easy 9 people get some neg rep for giving neg help. So if anyone that got some neg rep would like to redeem yourselves I am still looking for where the gromet came from.

I got 4 posi reps to your one neg rep in this thread. I guess some have a sence of humor...and some don't. :notsure:

Life is too short to be offended by tongue-in-cheek comments on the interwebs.
