What the hell is wrong with auto glass these days?

Which part was wrong?

 

I live in a Safety inspection state and they wont pass you if you have a crack.

 

Still rocking the original glass in my 2008 Subaru and 2010 Nissan. Both have a few tiny chips that I've filled.

This reminds me of a Netflix Documentary i saw called American Factory. About a Chinese billionaire open an autoglass manufacturing plant in Ohio.
I thought it was kind of fucked up and now i'm seeing all these posts about cheap autoglass.

 

i am a little bit biased, but I have had COUNTLESS people go to safelite, have safelite absolutely FUCK their car/truck up, and then they come to us and we redo it for them the proper way. all I can say, if possible, support the smaller shops. more likely than not, you'll actually end up talking to the person who is directly doing your windshield. safelite, you have no idea whos doing it. not sure about nationwide, but at least in my area, the satellite shop burns through glass techs faster than you can think, so they're staffed mostly by people who have been doing glass work for only a matter of weeks or months with minimal training. (AND HINT HINT, THE SMALLER SHOPS CAN DO A LOT MORE WITH PRICE BREAKS/DEALS THAN THE BIG ONES CAN. I cant even tell you how many free rock chips and recalibrations I've done for people who went to other big name shops and got treated like absolute dog shit)

My 4 month old Fuyao windshield off the installer's truck has a wave at the top corner of the passenger side, I don't see it and I know it's there which is annoying.
