Considering that fullsize truck sales are pretty much dead that diesel costs $4.50 a gallon, killing off the diesel Tundra is a smart move, IMO.

What you guys coined awile back as "metrosexual", apparently sells! I look at that concept and see a lot of ridgeline and a little murano with a sqeakytoy lil bed just to say it's got one. I may be getting old, but to me all the new stuff is looking either too femmy or like dubb city:( hangin onto my cruiser man! As far as diesel goes, it would've been sweet to have a madd torquey schwinggin diesel in a lighter truck like the Tacoma-but it seems that the cost of diesel fuel ran that idea off the table.

Why not simply make a hybrid Tacoma that gets 35 mpg on the highway? I'd buy that, but I don't want a toy Abat.

What, are you kidding?! They don't do that because it's simple and actually makes sense. Get with it, man.

I dunno, there are some people that HAVE to have a full size deisel for work or play or for whatever reason they need the power. toyota should tap that market. my buddy had the new Tundra and sold it for a dodge dullly 3500. he loved the toyota but he had to have the power. he loves the engine in the dodge but hates the rest of the truck.

what i dont get is why hybrids all have to be ugly? look at all the hybrid cars, they are ugly has hell. they are just now starting to make normal cars hybrids (camery etc...) but the yaris and the prius and shit like that.... who made the decision that they have to look like douche mobiles? i wouldnt mind if they converted a tacoma for a hybrid option but why would i want that piece of shit abat? it looks like something from a bad 80's sci fi movie

damn- that's a lot of body and no bed...i mean- they've lost site of what makes a truck a truck. with that little space, you may as well cover the bed and call it an suv. there's no point. it's for the rugged suburbanite that occasionally carries home a cabinet or wardrobe from an antique store upright in that bed.

fugly and ghey and ass backwards.

I look at it and see a shit load of body damage from any trail work.

I think many Hybrids are designed for better areodynamics. At 50 mph more than half of the vehicles energy is used to overcome aero dynamic drag. Since drag increases with the square of speed, 65 mph would require twice the energy. Thus we get stupid looking hybrids as manufactures strive for better mpg numbers.

That is one ugly concept! Whoever drew that up must have worked on the Honda Ridgeline project. Looks just the same just with a little more gay in it!
