4 doors makes getting stuff in and out of the cab easier and at the time my girlfriend had 2 children...and I prefer to put things in the cab and out of the weather.

Short bed rationale was due to the fact that #1, finding a DCLB in this area was damn near impossible without dealer trades and losing any bargaining leverage I had. 2. That extra 10 or 12 inches in bed length cost $949 and a trailer would be cheaper and more useful long-term.

V6 & 4WD living in the midwest I don't know why anyone would not buy a 4WD truck... I don't mind being the first one out of the neighborhood in the morning after a good snow.

DC, fit friends and fam when needed, although they mostly shy away from riding with me due to less leg room.

LB, plan to do some remodeling around the house so the extra bed space would come in handy.

    TRD Sport, might as well.

4x4, don't really need it, but nice to have when I do happen to visit Tahoe or some snowy places.

Automatic, wanted to drive leisurely and share the wheel when road trips come around.

DCSB because Having 4 doors is always nice to have even tho it's never more than my GF with me. Short bed because it looks just right, sure a LB would be nice every now but I don't need it.

Access cab cuz I dont haul people in my truck, mostly just me. Love the 6' bed. Had a DCLB SR5 2wd before, wanted a 4WD, so I traded in for a 15 TDR OR 4wd. Didn't need a TRD OR, searched all over my area for a V6, 4wd, access cab, in Black or MGM. Found it in the TRD OR version, drove it, loved it, bought it. It is my daily driver, so I wont mod it too much, but want it to be unique and look good. Will eventually put in a 2 - 2.5" lift so I dont have to mess with UCA's. Will save for a good coilover lift and not go the spacer way.

Regular cab-cheap, just me 99% of the time, and '14 was the last year so I wanted one.

    4wd-gotta have it

Auto-buckets and wife can't drive stick plus the manual seems to have more issues.

Personally, I don't understand the Tacoma in DCLB. If I Need that much truck, I'll go fullsized.

Simply....I enjoyed two previous SUV's, but couldn't just chuck anything in the back. Hence, DCSB. I also have a steep drive in snow country, so i wanted the bells of the TRD off road package.

    For me it went

    1) Long bed absolutely necessary. I have a truck to use it. Im always hauling something. landscaping equipment, mulch, rocks, pavers, furniture etc... I wish they made a 7 or 8ft bed

    2) 4x4. Cause im always in the dirt and snow and wet muddy boat ramps

    3) Manual trans, cause im 21 and :burnrubber::burnrubber::burnrubber::burnrubber:

    3) v6. cause i had a 2.7 that towed my boat/hauled ok, but when it got hit i opted for the bigger motor

    4) Access cab. cause they dont offer the DCLB in manual trans  . Also because I go into Philadelphia alot and it fits in tighter spaces. But if i coulda got a DCLB manual i would get over that in a split second...

I knew I was having a family before I would trade off the truck, so DC was the only option for me. I can drive standard, but resale on anything standard is the shits around here and the Auto seems to be more reliable so I had to go for the DCLB. In Canada (in 2013 anyways) you can only get the DCSB with a manual transmission.

As for why I went TRD Sport, it's more like why not. The price difference between a SR5 and TRD Sport only a $2K for me and in Canada the TRD Sports get heated seats which I really wanted. Oh, and SKEWP.

Posted in the order of importance to me:

MT- I love to drive and I just don't feel like I am driving with a AT, more like the vehicle is driving and I am along for the ride.

4x4/LB/V6- I don't have much need for a truck that isn't a 4x4 or has a shorter bed. And if you are going to get a 4x4, might as well get that extra power as well.

AC- I rarely have more than one passenger riding along with me, and if I do, I don't give a shit if they are comfortable or not. If they want to complain about it, they can ride in the bed or not at all.

As for the trim, I don't really have a preference. I was down to a TRD OR and an SR5, and I opted to go with the SR5 because the dealership I bought it from gave it to me for dealer invoice and they weren't huge douchebags like the guys from the dealership that had the TRD. That said, if the d-bags at the other dealership would have gone below dealer invoice, I would have a TRD OR now instead of an SR5.

AC to remind me not to date chicks with kids. Gives room for my mutts and my stuff.
Long bed because I needed room to haul all of something, not a half a something.
TRD OFFROAD cause I wanted a locking rear diff
Manual because I bought used in 06 and it was the only AC TRD OFFROAD I could find

I wanted the room of a double cab and I don't need a 6 foot bed. TRD Off Road for the trim and when I bought it I was living in Phoenix (plenty of great off roading). 4X4 for obvious reasons.

    People like choices.

Why does DCSB exist? Because DCLB looks gay as fuck, that's why.

Why AC over DC? Because 4 doors on a truck is gay as fuck, that's why.

Why manual over auto? Because not shifting your own gears is gay as fuck, that's why.

Access Cab because I don't need the extra seats. I want 6ft bed and need it to fit in my garage. Anything bigger than Access cab...won't fit.

Automatic....because... when I test drove the manual, I didn't like it. Just didn't shift as I would expect. I've owned a lot of manuals....

Had an 08 DCSB Sport 5 speed auto. My kids were 20 and 11 at the time I bought it and we were spending a lot of weekends at our camper at the lake so the bed was "big enough". I also deer hunt and the sb worked just fine for the gear I needed to haul.

But truth be told, I would have preferred a long bed. There were so many time I couldn't fit one more thing in that would have made it with the extra cubic feet. I would have put a cap on it too.

Now I have an 06 Access cab long bed with the 6 speed manual. The kids are older and we don't spend as many weekends at the lake so the a-cab works pretty good.
My daily commute by car is only about ten minutes to the train so the stick isn't a big deal for me. If I had to drive on the expressway every day it would suck big time.

And the 6 speed is fun to drive.:)
