Ceramic tint keeps out more heat than regular tint but you will pay a premium. In Texas, they have a tint you can put on the inside of the windshield that's clear, but keeps out some of the radiant heat. It's new here I think. I'm going to try it when I tint the side windows. Going to stick with whatever the factory is on the back. Windshield tint will cost me $200. Curious to see how well it works. I hate windshield shades.

For those of you that have ceramic tint on the front doors and factory tint on the back doors did you notice a big color difference between the front and back? Could you post a few pics? Thanks

3M Crystalline 70 all around except windshield and sunroof. Contemplating on doing this in the next month or so. I just want UV barrier and it already dramatically reduces the heat in the cabin. I'm not into the dark matching window "cool look". I hate when I can can't make eye contact with a driver pulling out of a driveway, let alone, not be able to see them and making sure they're paying attention.

what I'm looking to do is huper optik ceramic all around with 30% on the fronts and 30%? on the rears over the factory "smoked" glass. the tint shop is telling me i will have a color difference doing this and i should go with huper optik "performa" line as that matches the factory rear color. only thing about the "performa" line is that it does not offer any infrered heat reduction like the ceramic line offers. I'm not worried about the color difference as long as it's not a huge color difference.

Not sure on what you mean by leave the back stock? Does the trucks come stock with a slight tint in the back now? I thought they were all just no tint at all.

I hope no one would want the hideous look of tinted fronts and no tint rear lol.

But anyways just my $0.02, I would not recommend anything darker than a 30%. I currently have 22% all around on my car, one thing I do find is at night it is actually a pain in the ass to look out the windows. Maybe its just my eyes getting older or something but I find at night going from windshield with all the street lights and opposing headlights, to going to look out my windows to check blind spot etc, I can barely see. As much as I love the look of 22% all around I find it too hard to see out of at night just not worth the safety risk to me.
There's too many cyclist on the roads where I live now days that its bad enough they barely have any sort of lights or reflectors on them so you can see them, adding tint makes it almost impossible when they are all idiotic cunts that think its safe to ride a bike at night with dark clothing and no lights.

30% looks good and I had that before it started to peal and I redid the tint at 22%. It was much easier to see out of at night compared to the 22%, and I have the 22% one thats supposed to help keep UV and heat out. So it actually seems slightly darker than a normal 22% its more like a 20%

i have the new windshield tint on my wife's suv.. i hear many people rave about it. they say what you said, and also that it helps with halo-ing at night and takes a load off your eyes during the day. while i agree, i also hate that stuff and won't be installing in on my truck, because even with my ageing vision i can see color and edge distortion, and it also really messes with my polarized sunglasses. used alone, the windshield tint is not enough for me. used with sunglasses, it's too much, and both edge and color distorted. nasty. i'll stick with 22 all around and a clear windshield personally.

Just a caution - if you have dogs, careful with those door protectors with the plastic bits that slide down in the window channel. They'll tear up tinting film in time.

This is not accurate. Windshields are generally 99% UV blocking, non-privacy glass maybe 60% and Privacy Glass 80+%.

Here's what Toyota said about 2nd gen's. I'd guess ours are equivalent or better.
