I got the darkest I could in the front where I wouldn't get in trouble. The company had it down to an art, they said any higher and it would draw unwanted attention. I've never had an issue for 3 years. I'll have to look at my work order, but I believe I have one step under limo tint in rears and I think 15% in front. I can still see out the rear at night, it looks really nice, and keeps the interior cool and protected from not only the UV, but sketchy people with wandering eyes for my tools. I'll post my specs when I take a peek at my sheet.

Most of the time what will get you a tint ticket is the front windshield

I have 20 all the way around, except the front windshield, which does have a lighter tint strip across the top.
Not sure why anyone would want to black out their front windshield completely?

It looks bad and isn't very smart. In my opinion. :p

my windshield is only 50% which is not very dark but IMO its an improvement and I see better at night because there isn't as much glare from oncoming traffic.

The tint on the front windshield helps with glare and blinding sunlight. It wouldn't be blacked out by any means it would only be about 50% (see the opening image)

I have 20% and been pulled over twice for it. This last time they put the meter on it and said that it read 18%. I can see pretty well at night, unless I am backing up. I have to roll the windows down in order to see clearly in the mirror. It also makes a nice difference in temps in the summer.

I think location really depends on if you are going to get a ticket or not. I live in the 2nd most dangerous city in the US with homicides per capita so police are more worried about actual criminals than little ole me with tint.

Same, at night I have to roll down my windows to back up.
And it totally makes a diff in temps for the summer haha.
I feel 20 is a good %. 5% is too much for me.

I've seen cops driving by, trying to peer into my truck,
but once they see I'm just a little white girl they keep strolling... haha.
I think they have other more important things to worry about than me.

Yeah I'll probably go with the 20 or 15 over the factory tint

Do 15 on the front and 5 over the back, and 35 on the windshield. I do it for a living and for me it's the best. The back factory specs out at a 28 I think which won't be exactly 5 with 15 layered.

Toyota has effed up factory glass, it cringes me.

This is mine with 25% on the fronts which is what my tint guy said would match the rear pretty well. I like it.
