well I am from Utah, but I am moving to carlsbad CA in 3 weeks, so not so much. I just like how they look. I dont drive it much so I am not too worried about the mileage and the noise everything that comes with a big mud tire.

I'm only asking because I really wanted those tires also but my tire guy kept talking me out of them, telling me that they wouldn't really work in the snow for me so finally he talked me into a compromise and that's the ones in my photo

why wouldn't they work in the snow? if somebody knows the answer to that please chime in. I know the width might make them push alot of snow, but I think they will do fine. I am aware of how loud they will be im ok with it

    IMG_3982.jpg

These were my last 2 trucks and they were loud too, and did fine in the snow.

No siping, He was quite adomitt about it. Him and I went back and forth about it. He is a truck tire specialist, and off road junkie, so he won.

Are the stock good year tires that bad or are most just replacing for looks? I understand replacing after a lift but I have read a lot of where people replace just for the hell of it. Ive done the same on other trucks and cars in the past but the tires really sucked

My 16 came stock with 265/65/17 Firestone Destinations. They suck in the snow. I shoveled my driveway then cleaned the back of truck . There was a small pile of snow. Put truck in reverse the tires started to spin. Had to put in 4 wheel to get over it. That was enough for me. Went and got General Grabbers AT2 265/70/17.

The bridgstones they used to have on the tacoma' did suck. The tires on now are of much better quality, but there still car tire like, (imo) that and think raised white letters looks better on our trucks. I went with a second set of tires/ rims to keep my stock looking nice.

I changed from a 16" to a 17" wheel and went up a size to a more aggressive tire for wheeling.

Yeah both of my tacoma came with the dunlops and were changed by winter time. The reviews on the goodyear's that come on the TRD OR would make the average person think they are worth buying is why I asked.

The OR Tires are definitly better than the rest of the tacoma fleet. Those, i would have kept, if i had gotten an OR, exsept for the missing raised white letters.

I run madtercraft mxt' on my rig, they are full depth siped and do excellent in the snow, matter of fact I just ran them in our last blizzard we had here in Va. An hardly put it in 4wd, great on ice for a m/t, on my second set and will continue to buy theses, noise ain't bad on the highway either, look in there website and it says full depth sipping

I just put toyo open country at2s on my second gen on Tuesday, it snowed here in Ohio all week, I had to put it in 4 hi to get to the highway with my old tires, with the toyos I haven't even thought about it, and they look good. A little loud on the freeway but I like it! I stayed with the stock 265-70-16 only because it's my daily driver. Can't wait to see how they do in some mild off-roading

I think you are the first person that said they are loud? I was planing on going with these because I have heard they are quiet. Now I'm second guessing it. I love the look of the ko2s but want a lighter quieter tire. ????
