Toyota seems to have a wide range of OEM tires on Tacomas. I have seen Generals, Michelins, Firestones were on my 2018 Sport 4x4.

Now since getting the PRO yesterday they have Goodyear Wrangler A/T Kevlar.

I am curious, what tires did yours come with?

Not sure what is bad about them. They are decent street tire. They retail $170+ Each on tire rack.

2017 SR5. Firestone Destination LE2s. Good tires, but they don't do a 4x4 justice. I need an upgrade!

Important to know, the compound for OEM tire's isn't usually what you get at retailers.

My wife's rav4 tire's are done at 22k. Looked at them on discount tire and they're rated for 60k. And the reviews say many get that out of them.

When you need to replace, would you pick the same tire? It has been okay for a OEM, but I'm going General or Bro's

2016 SR - Hankook Dynapro HT - they’ve taken me up many a 4wd road, without issue. Got ~50k out of my first set, and just bought another set off another member for cheap. Eventually hope to upgrade, but I’m doing just fine with these for now.

That' what mine were too. I can buy them for $80. I am sure Toyota got them for $40. Junk
I heard the Peaks are supposed to be good. Give an update whenever on road noise, grip, wear, etc

I know tires can be rated for a certain amount of mileage, but we all know it is driving habits that changes what we get. Plus if highway mainly or city. Tire manufacturers do contract with auto builders for tires, but in this case of the Firestone, I maybe going out on a limb here and say that Toyota did not work with Firestone for any special treatment build; just a supplier.

My 2017 ZL1 has Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar tires formulated just for the ZL1 and 200+ mph. And you are right. There are different variations at the Discount Tire that are not OEM. But when you are talking $40 Firestone and $400 Supercar tires, the formulation for the Firestone should be the same.

Toyo Open Country. Not terrible, but not something I would have chosen.
