Usually with 1st gens people go with 265/75r16 or 285/75r16's but the 285's require some trimming if youre going to wheel.

I went with 265/75. never have any problems rubbing and still gets me where I need to go.

    Welcome to TW!

I would run 265/75/16. I have this tire size on my 4Runner and Taco (both lifted just under 3 inches) and this size looks good without affecting MPG's as bad as 285's. 285's look even better, but you gotta trim, bad gas mileage, and more wear and tear on parts.

Can you elaborate on what wear and tear the 285's will affect as apose to the 265's?

    Thanks

    Welcome from Florida :typing:

The best thing to do is look at the build threads and see what others have done. Thats going to give you the best idea of what you like. Its your truck after all.

Yeah BF Goodrich and Goodyear Duratracs are popular.
