Those high MPG numbers come from more city driving since the car will run on electric at slow/ low speeds. Opposite of a traditional car that gets better MPG’s on the highway, has to have the gas engine running at those speeds. During summer months mine gets about 42 MPG consistently and I do almost zero highway driving. I think you’ll be very happy with your choice.

That’s good to hear. Much of my wife’s driving is around town. We had considered the Prime for that reason, but they were difficult to come by and hard to get a deal on.

Not gonna lie, my wife drives like a little old lady to get that 48 mpg. Not complaining though, I'm grateful knowing she drives safely.

wifes 2010 Mazda CX-9 just got totaled. We loved it and had it since 2014 45k to 160k with zero issues( I took care of all the maintenance)
Trying to decide what to replace it with... I love my taco and Toyota but I’m not sold on the Highlander and my wife is less than thrilled with the interior and outside overall shape/lines. To be fair the Mazda really impressed me on both of those areas but I’ve read issues with some of the newer ones and I’m also recovering from sticker shock at what vehicles are going for now. Runners don’t really have enough room for trips with all the crap my wife thinks we need. I’d prefer to be able to tow 7k or so with something and have a third row but We don’t like the sequoias.

Thanks for folks feedback in here, we are thinking of trading in our 4Runner for a rav4 prime. We like the idea of running on electric for my wife’s daily commute, and having hybrid option for longer trips.

Other than being a hot selling ride, any other feedback on the prime?
