Zac, the hotel you are staying at is pretty far to the north end of Scottsdale, just off the 101 fwy between Scottsdale road and Hayden. I would make sure you rent a car when you are here as the area is pretty spread out and Old Town is NOT walking distance with or without this heat.

How old are you?? If you are looking to hit some of the Scottsdale dance clubs, my brother is an entertainment director for a co that owns several of the better places as well he is the resident DJ at 2 of them. LMK and I'll set you up there with him.

As far as restaurants and bars go, there are tons to choose from, I guess it just really depends on what you are looking for.

I had no idea Ikea was an attraction. I've never even set foot in the place because I've always figured it was cheaply made furniture that was inexpensive. Maybe I'll have to check it out.

Lol. They actually have pretty good quality. There is a bed frame that my wife wants for our guest bedroom.

No Danzer you're absolutely correct, it's a bunch of crap (over prices if you ask me). I don't know why people love that cheap throw away furniture you might get 3 years at most out of under normal "abuse."

Still there's a lot of cool stuff to check out in the valley. I can vouche for that new comedy club, it's pretty nice. Stand Up Live off Jefferson in downtown Phoenix. The Tempe Improv is also awesome, and more established and has had pretty much every national comedian around through it's time. F1 Race Factory is fun if you're into indoor karting (plus you can grab a beer at the bar in the place after if you wish). Mill Ave has a ton of bars and scenery but it's kinda gone way down hill the last few years. The Scottsdale Fashion Square area has pretty much anything you could want enterainment/shopping wise and is pretty impressive. There's also a still active Drive-In theater around Scottsdale too if you're into it.

Also if you want to escape the city a bit you can hit up Saguaro Lake and rent a boat and enjoy some nice desert scenery on the water too.

Disagree... Our entire home is from IKEA. We get nothing but compliments and its holds up VERY well. Everyone has their opinion. I'm going from experience. That's all I have. But to each their own.

Well i know that some of their older styles of furniture were bad designs and cheaper materials.. but all of the stuff we have had for the past few years now is great actually.
