I've had them push down on the back of the car... The first time a cop did it, it kinda threw me off.

I think the guy who said they do it to check the trunk nailed why they touch or push down on the back of the car, checking if its open.

I was hopped up on coffee headed south from Whistler, this was as they were widening the road for the olympics. Yeah! Speeding in a construction zone. Hottie pulls me over and gives me a ticket and explains the big break I get for some reason (my perfect smile)! She then tells me I get a discount if I pay it early, awesome. I get back to the states and call in my ticket $55 after trooper tip and currency exchange! I love Canada! that was the best time I ever got getting busted. Oooh yeah. They don't report to the states. Sweet.

i do this on every stop, 90% of people dont see me do it.

its a safety factor, as well as if i get shot and the car takes off, there is proof i was there

They touch the back of a car to put their fingerprints on it incase the person drives off and gets away, if they catch him within the next few days it's just more proof that that was the car.

Be truthful! They hear lies all day long... Got pulled for going 85 in a 35 once and he asked me how fast I was going, I said 85mph, and he was so shocked I told the truth that he gave me a failure to follow a traffic control device ticket($100) instead of easily taking me to jail for 50mph over(and $1000 ticket). He said he never hears people tell the truth.

Wow. You were extremely lucky, at least here in Cali you would have been. By admitting your guilt on the side of the road you would have virtually no chance to successfully defend yourself in court.

Even when I know I am guilty I STFU, I'm polite and courteous, but never admit any wrongdoing.

He told me he probably would have arrested me if I had lied to him because he had me on laser, He said he was more shocked over the fact that I told him the truth over how fast I was going.

In Ohio if you have a CCW permit you MUST tell the officer right away that you have a CCW, AND if you have a firearm in your possesion. You MUST disclose this information when ever your in close contact with and Officer. Then you wait for his instructions.

He is going to know you have the CCW before he ever gets out of his car. If you touch the weapon it's a felony.

I keep my Drivers license and CCW in a two window ID holder. I have been pulled over and I roll the window down, turn on the dome light and hang the ID holder out the window (other hand on the wheel). He had me dead to rights for speeding but he looked at the ID's ask me if I knew why he stopped me ( I said "No"). He said "slow it down. Go a head and take off".
