What to do with a sh*t Tranny in a new 2017 DCSB OR?

Some people are gonna dislike the tranny. Some people are gonna be just fine with it. I agree we shouldn't jump on each other's throats for different opinions. I very much agree with stopping all the "tranny hunting" posts. The transmission is what it is. Posting on TW isn't going to help, because it's not actually an issue. It's an attribute that you can have an opinion on.

New Tacoma owners will experience things they do not like about the truck (common problems and criticisms). Many will google the issues and find Tacoma World. Then they will voice their complaints here and seek solutions. Any member who has frequented the TW Turd Gen forum for more than a month or two will quickly jump on them for posting about an issue that is beaten to death and has been discussed since the first Turd Gen was taken on delivery. Rinse and repeat.

 

New member with 3rd gen Tacoma + problem = Almost instantly labeled as a troll.

Then when new member stops responding after such a warm welcome, troll spotters congratulate all for vanquishing obvious troll.

I have never seen this on other websites.

 

I consider myself quite the forum junkie but I've stopped frequenting all but this forum and AR15.com of late. To be honest, this is nothing new. Newbies get beat on all the time on all forums but I will say this forum is unique in that some folks do seem to enjoy running people off more than they should.

People are disappointed with their trucks and being that they cost so damn much, I certainly understand the desire to complain. Plus, one of the alluring things about this website is that it seems there are some actual Toyota corporate people here (or used to be?) and maybe their complaints will get heard.

It's the internet, whadda ya gonna do?

Dude it happens on any forum worth visiting.

Its a thing. To be honest I think its a litmus test for a great community. Think of it as light humored hazing. If htey cant handle a few douchebags telling them to read the manual or piss off then they aren't goin to last anyway.

I had been an arfcommer for almost a decade. But the groupthink and mark larue hero worship was embarrassing. I still have an account but I'll not be "team" again and I really won't visit again. You know. We just don't click anymore, and we grew apart. Also the constant randy weaver fellating was getting old.
