My dad’s cab was smashed by a falling utility pole. We’re thinking insurance will declare it a total loss. I’m wondering if it’ll be salvageable as a trail rig. Anyone repaired a smashed cab? 20240705_162324.jpg

If the insurance company totals it they will likely take it.

    Reserected from the dead.
You can buy it back for a diminished amount of payout.

It's easy to jack up the roof. Turn it into a trail runner and beat the snot out of it. I guarantee it will be some if the most fun you will ever have...just please wear your seatbelt.

My salvage price was $500 less than complete repair. Toyota Tacoma's have a pot of gold buried in them, it's why they have the best resale value on the market. You won't get pennies on the dollar to "buy back" so don't get your hopes up. Probably better to accept payout and buy an undamaged similar make / year/ mileage model. The toyota tech that repaired my truck wanted to buy my truck until he heard the salvage threshold.
