Hi all, had the truck for 3 days now and looking to do my first mod. I want to color match the chrome bumper ends on the rear bumper and haven't decided on the best route to do that. Has anyone had good results with vinyl or maybe a Plasti-dip?

Once the weather holds (warm/no rain) I am plasti-dipping mine black. I did plastidip my grill ('16 SR5) white then painted it Toyota super white to better match the body......has held up well for over a year now.

Sounds like an option. I'll have to do a little research. Thanks

Just realized they have limited colors, but a decent option.

Going to give the Plasti-Dip a try this Sunday for the bumper ends along with the emblems. For the relatively low cost of a can, I can at least get a mental picture of how the more expensive options will look. I'll post up pics when I'm done.

I plastidipped mine a couple weeks ago and they look great, cost was very minimal. If they start to chip or look bad I’m just going to buy the replacements but it’s worth the try. They look amazing right now and the color is exactly what I wanted. I’ll upload a picture tomorrow if you want but there’s plenty of material already posted on this

Gave it a try but it was still a little cool out. I'll wait for warmer weather and I'll try heating up the can in some hot water.

I think the black is easier to work with. I was trying for white. Another issue I found was within my less than 250 miles I put on the truck, I managed to kick up a stone somewhere and nicked the chrome. No amount of cleaning and then Dip will cover that spot. Its like an invisible force field and just pools around it.

Nah, my truck will probably never see any serious offroading. The most it'll see is snow and living in NYC, it's usually out of the way before I get to have some fun in it. In all honesty, the only reason I have this truck is so I don't have to smell both my sons football gear after thier games.
