What to do with my old axle?

    John, I can hold onto it indefinitely. Just thinking if ECGS will give $400 for the third, maybe that is the way to go. I think I could manage to ship that. No way I could ship the whole axle, so I would be dealing with strictly local market. I do appreciate the advice.

    Oh, yea. if they give 400 that's a no brainer. i thought it was just 80.

    So I just talked to ECGS. Said they would give me $125 & they pay the shipping. Think I will try to sell the whole thing for awhile.

    Would you happen to need a set of 1980 RM125 forks? laughs.


    Those sound ancient but are only twice as old as my truck.

    Stock, 4WD, Access Cab, White,
    Suggestion.

    Pull the actual half axle out of the housing. Cut off the wheel flange and splines. Forge one end into a point, forge the other end into a flat. You now have a pry bar that could move a mountain.

    Sell the center section.

    Scrap/recycle the rest.
