I always get bigger tires at purchase and always sell the oem back to dealer for 100/125 a piece depending on the tires. Saves the headaches of selling myself and still have the oem rims I can sell if I need.

Sold mine on Facebook Marketplace. Had to weed thru a bunch of scammers and lowballers, but the guy that bought them was very happy, and I made a few bucks.

Bring them to a place that sells used tires. It’s big business down here in Florida. Can get at least $50 a piece for sure if you can’t unload them anywhere else.

I kept mine and bought a 2nd set of wheels with the intention using them for commuting to work, but then the pandemic hit and the mud terrains have remained on the truck

Got $600 CND for mine with 6,000 mile on them. (Just the rubber)

Also sold my winter tire package after one winter, once I installed my awesome 265/75/16 Duratracs. The Goodyear tire, Toyota should have put on an Off Road Taco, to begin with!

Its a good idea, but tires can dry rot just sitting around years. I guess if you get a new vehicle every 3-4 years thats ok, but i've seen tires begin to dry rot in 5 just by storing them.

I doubt the dealer cares, or checks date codes.

Truth be told, I thought for sure I would have traded in by now (5.5 years), normally I trade out every 4 years or so. If I knew I was keeping as long as I have I probably would have sold, but you don't get much for stock OR wheels anyways, so no real loss.

I'm replacing the old on my old Ranger with the stock tires off the Tacoma. The Ranger will be moving on to be my farm truck.

So....buy some land, buy a shitty truck, and put them on there.
