Got a buddy in the cabinet business & he produces a ton of scrap hardwood- beech, maple, oak, alder, etc... 8-10 foot pieces 1-4in wide. Currently he pays to have it disposed of, but i gotta think there is a market for this somewhere. any ideas?

not a bad idea. wood has been kiln dried, so it burns fast & hot- great for kindling, but not much else.

4in is on high side- and they are never 4in through the entire 10 feet- these are all end pieces cut off to make board square

true, but he has so much of it, he could only give 1-2% away to those type of places. ideally, he's trying to make some money off selling it.

I am surprised, places here put it out on a certain day and people race for it. Great for many projects or firewood. There are places that mulch about anything too.

OP , if all his scraps are hardwoods maybe there is a wood pellet plant or wood shavings plant near that would pay for the material

Installed Cooper At/3's (265/70R16) and ProComp 7089 Rims. Tinted front windows. Did the Fog Light Anytime mod. Did the tailgate mod. Added running boards. Adding sound Deadening from RAAMaudio. Replacing stock speakers with Polk Audio DB6501's.
I have a small shop, and I give all my scrap (mostly red oak) to a guy I go to church with. He burns it in a boiler to heat his shop with. One man's trash... another's treasure.
