    Haah, well that's shittty... But at least it wasn't new. Mines new, and I saved for 6 years for it PLUS I am working 3 jobs right now to finish paying it off. Girlfriend hates me for it, but it's soo worth it for the truck.

    Yeah, I got that back to black stuff, i'll use it on them... But the front has several scratched on it. Almost like it rubbed against something very lightly. I'm farely confident that the back with clean off though.

    True, I'm gonna try and wait a year before I take it off-road I think. Because as soon as I do that I can gaurantee I'll want a lift and bigger tires. And I really can't afford that right now. Unless I want to start working between the hours of 3 am and 7 am haha.

    Haha, I hear that's what happens to everyone. I'm trying really hard not to. But, I don't have the know how to do a lot of the stuff myself, and really want to learn and don't want to give my truck to a shop... So I'm at a bit of a stand still with even wanting to do stuff.

    Hahaa, I search like crazy everyday... I'm always so nervous to DOUBLE POST and get attacked, so I try my best to make sure i'm not.

    I hear a lot about the 5100's, and AAL... But don't know what they are, and I have no one in my life that knows much about trucks. Makes things a little tougher

    5100 = Bilstein 5100 Series Shock
    AAL = Add-A-Leaf; gives you more lift out of your existing rear leaf packs for minimal cost by simply adding an additional leaf to them

    AAL = Add-A-Leaf :D Nice! I had no Idea, I was curious what that ment.

    I knew the 5100 was a Bilstein shock, BUT, how much lift does it give you? Does it translate to a 3" or 4" or 6" lift or whatever, or is there more to it than just that?

    There's a little more to it than that.

    The shock itself isn't the only thing you need to truly give you lift up front - most people who want to stay with a stockish setup will run the 5100's at .85 to level it out.

    You can run them at 0 for just an overall better ride.

    yeah there is a little metal ring that runs around the shock and it can be set to different settings (heights)

    Okay cool, but what happens if I want to run 32/33's? but I don't want a huge 6" lift or anything. just beefy tires and a bit of a lift.

    You can run a 32" tire right now (265/75-16) with no lift at all.

    If you want to run a 33" tire (285's), that's when you need to start looking at lifting.

    With a 3" lift can I run 33's without trimming my truck?

    Read up on the FAQ's that tacoman linked you to first - there's more to it than just that. :thumbsup:
