Appreciate the responses. I hope it turns out to be everything I want it to be. Like I said earlier, I had issues with a F150 and just hesitate with my next purchase. I have always wanted a Tacoma going back to 1999. Tomorrow I anticipate getting my first one.

That must be allot of highway driving if you never done brakes at 92k. I’ve done them twice and I’m under that.

Took the plunge and bought the truck. Everything looked and ran good. The drive home was 2 1/2 hours. Ran like a champ. Thanks for all the advise.

Hi. 3rd gen guy here. Could someone possibly point me to a thread which covers more details on 2015’s specifically? Here is what little I think I know.

2014 was the last year of regular cab
2016 was first year of 3rd gen so 4.0 replaced by 3.5 and of course all the 3rd gen changes.

I just want to educate myself a bit more on 2015 since I really didn’t pay it any attention when I was searching. In hindsight it seems sort of like a bit of a holy grail type of truck in many ways? Mostly I want to understand what the 2015 has which my truck doesn’t, other than the obvious 4.0 and the less obvious front bed rail header.

    Oh and OP, nice truck!

The 2015 is considered the best used model Tacoma.

Finally google tells me something I enjoy hearing...

I did not know this about 2015. I would be interested in knowing more about, especially since I went above my original budget.

Well the only thing I’ve read that I don’t like about them, and that I experienced myself, is that on some individual trucks Toyota factories cheaped out on certain parts, because they knew they were changing gens the following year and perhaps were running out of things lol.

my previous truck was an 06’ with exactly the same trim (trd-or/ac) as my 15’ now. Except why would my 06 have a compass anti glare rear view mirror and the newer one have a shit, old school flip mirror? Doesn’t matter now that I’ve changed it but on a small scale, that bothered me.
