I'm going to go look at a 2002 V6 Xtra Cab TRD Off-Road package taco tomorrow. Has 110k miles on it. They're asking 8990 but I will probably talk them down if I feel good about the truck.

What should I look for in particular? Not quite up to date on defects/rust etc.

definetly give the frame a look since thats obviously a big thing right now with the first gens.

That will be one of the first things that I check.

I've searched the forums quite a bit and tried to find other things to watch out for. But I have not really seen any ubiquitous issues with 1st gens other than rust.

Check the 1/4 glass window latches, pulseing brakes, rusted out skid plates.

    Listed in sig.......
Test the 4x4 is in working order and the diff lock as well. Check the condition of the springs to see that they're not overly bowed. Ask for maintenance records and be sure to ask if timing belt was replaced(suppose to be replaced at 90k). Also ask if the lower ball joint recall was done.

Ask them if the timing belt has been replaced.
