What to look out for when buying a used second gen?

    Depends on where you live. If they treat the roads where you live in the winter with salt/chemicals, you should do everything you can to prevent rust. All of the 1st gen/2nd gen Tacomas I have owned were rust-free, and I never had to do anything to any of their frames to keep them that way in NM. Rust is not an issue here, unless you like to play with your truck in a lot of water. Even then they dry out quickly due to the climate.

    Bilstein 4600 shocks.
    I got a 2005 from a Toyota dealer a few years ago that was a Certified Used, and it was as good as a new one. I never had any issues with it, and would still be driving it today if not for it being in an accident. I had no problems selling it after the repairs were done, and the buyer was thrilled with it even knowing it had been repaired. One advantage of 2005 is no TPMS.

    Dang.. That's way cheaper than anything I've seen recently.. I'm really only looking for a dcsb, though..
