What to use to protect headlight lens?

    Weahertecs, Bed met, Snugtop, Avid sliders, TSB Springs, Bilstein 5100's @1.75,
    I was told not to get wax on the clear headlight lens covers. Anyone know if that is true? Is there anything that I can use to protect them like wax or should I just clean them and leave them alone?
