i was thinking of adding a tonneau cover sometime on my 2019 TRD Sport Tacoma. What is the best tonneau cover do you recommend? Thank you for your time.

Can't help. I hate them. Just another thing that gets in the way, and driving makes it sound like the rain storm from hell. All that flapping..

I have the OEM that came with the truck and it works great, no leaks but a little heavy if you need to take it off.

Had a Solid Fold 2.0, and it was OK. Now I have a Retrax roll-top. Highly recommended.

It really depends on how you use your truck. If you need something more secure but rarely large loads, a hard tri fold or even a solid cover. If you need to haul larger items often a soft roll up is nice. If you want something that will fold but want it to be lighter and don't need the feeling of security, a soft tri fold will work.
I have a soft roll up that works great for my needs. The brand is North Mountain and it was a really good price on Amazon.

I am very happy with my tonneau cover. It is Lund Genesis Elite model, trifold soft cover. It's been on my 2017 AC Tacoma for about 16 months. Zero leaks. The "Elite" model uses a premium cover material manufactured in Massachusetts by the Harrtz Co., which produces materials for OEM convertible tops. The Elite material has a woven appearance like you would see on a convertible top on a luxury car. Lund also makes a regular Genesis trifold, which uses a vinyl material, and is less expensive.

Many detailed YouTube videos on the product and its installation. It went on fairly easy. Also, simple to remove, store and reinstall. It attaches to the OEM rails in the bed utilizing a clamp system. The rails and tie-downs can still be used. No need to drill or otherwise modify the truck.
I bought mine on Amazon for about $300.

I am sure there are other good products out there. Lund is the only one I have direct experience with.IMG_0350.jpgfullsizeoutput_4b5.jpg

I have the soft cover from Rough Country. I like it, quick easy install, cheap, no leaks... not loud like some may say about a soft tonneau cover, and not that heavy if ya ever had to remove it. They make others too, hell they make tons of stuff for the Taco!

I have the OEM tri-fold tonneau from the factory and I love it. Easy to use, easy to remove and it doesn’t leak (from my experience in rainy Oregon).

I'm saving up for a BAKFlip MX4 Hard Folding Truck Bed Tonneau Cover. They are expensive. But from the reviews I read they are very nice.

If you want a trifold hard, the OEM is great. What gets me about all the tri fold aftermarket ones is the generic sizing and really crappy generic mounting clamps. Even worse due to the crappy generic design, some make you move the existing bed mounting rails. I waited a year before I found the right deal on a used OEM, but Leer would be my only aftermarket choice. If I went with any of the other brands, I have designed specific Toyota mounting, which I thought seriously about due to limited availability of OEM and Leer at the time.

I have a Bakflip G2 and I love it. Solid and secure when its folded down and the tailgate is locked. Folds all the way up against the cab so you can use the whole bed to haul bigger stuff. Lets a few drops of water in but I can live with that. I got it used on Craigslist for a good price

I have a RollnLock on mine. It came with the truck when I purchased it. Can easily secure things in the bed and lock it up.

I have the OEM cover and there's no noise-flapping.

OP, as stated, I have the OEM and like it very much. Provides a reasonably secure and weather resistant outlet for storage. I keep a water-tight box in the bed for any items that need to be kept 100% dry. Use it along with a Toyota bed mat to keep things from sliding and you have a heck of a convenient storage area.
    Hope this helps!

Baklip MX4 is the beeees kneeees. Hard cover so its more secure, folds up against the cab for bigger stuff, super easy to install. Pricey but worth it.

I like the OEM tri-fold, except those darn pegs sticking out when you have it folded up. Loading my wheels/tires in the bed when I go to have them swapped and it was extremely close to scratching the aluminum wheel due to them sticking out and the tire leaning against the side. Also I'm always worried I'm going to catch myself or something I'm loading on them.
