I work at a place that sells tires and beef and toilet paper. They torgue em' once to 90 ft/lbs and have a second guy double check em' to 90 ft/lbs with a different torque wrench

Well, they've been known to twist em' off also. 83/85, whatever is safe to you. I just don't like to see my wheel and tire pass me on an offramp.

^ That's really tight for generalized application. Why so much torque beyond spec? Your a Krawler? If so, I may see you on the next club run.

That's just what we use and have used for many many years. We have 4 different vehicles and torque specs are probably different for each one.... it's just easier. Haven't had any problems at all in 12+ years. It's one of those things we've been doing for so long - it's become the norm.

Yeah, I'm a Krawler Events Coordinator. Next club run is this Saturday 20th at Rausch. Not sure about Jan or Feb yet as we haven't secured trial guides for those months yet. Wheelin in the winter is slow (in terms of people available and/or liking winter activities). Just stop out to the forum, there's always folks wanting to get together and go wheelin.

Cool. Can't wait to meet everyone. If snowboarding up here looks sub par, I'll post my planned attendance Friday night.
